Verify your age with mGrađani

When alcohol and energy drinks are purchased online, the merchant is legally required to verify the buyer’s age. Verification uses the official mGrađani mobile app and takes less than a minute.

Choose the instructions that apply to you. If you need to install and activate the app, complete section B first, then continue with section A.

You need a smartphone (iPhone with iOS 16 or later, or Android 8 or later) and an e-Građani credential, such as mToken, your bank’s mobile token or an e-ID card.

A — You already have mGrađani

A1. Shopping on a computer or tablet

  1. In the Adria Gifts cart or cart drawer, select “Verify age”. The official mGrađani page will open with a QR code.
  2. Open your phone’s regular Camera app, not mGrađani, and point it at the QR code on your computer screen.
  3. Tap the link or notification on your phone, such as “Open in mGrađani”. The mGrađani app will open.
  4. If prompted, sign in with your PIN or biometrics, such as a fingerprint or Face ID.
  5. The screen will show the store’s name and the request, such as age verification for buying alcohol. Tap “Autoriziraj” (Authorise).
  6. Return to your computer and follow the cart instructions. After successful verification, select “Continue to checkout”. If a store page opened on your phone, you can close it.

A2. Shopping on your phone

  1. In the Adria Gifts cart or cart drawer, select “Verify age”.
  2. On the official mGrađani page, tap “Otvori aplikaciju mGrađani” (Open the mGrađani app).
  3. If prompted, sign in with your PIN or biometrics.
  4. Check the store name and requested permission, then tap “Autoriziraj” (Authorise).
  5. Return to your browser to continue shopping. After successful verification, select “Continue to checkout” in your original cart. If the return tab does not close automatically, switch to the original cart tab.

If shopping on a tablet, follow the computer instructions (A1) and scan the QR code with your phone.

B — You don’t have mGrađani

B1. Installation

  • iPhone: open the App Store, search for “mGrađani” and tap Get.
  • Android: open Google Play, search for “mGrađani” and tap Install.

The app is free.

B2. Activation — first sign-in

  1. Open the app and select “NIAS prijava” (NIAS login).
  2. Sign in using your e-Građani credential, such as mToken, a bank mobile token or an e-ID card. This is the same procedure as signing in to the e-Građani portal.

    Alternatively, if you are already signed in to e-Građani on your computer, generate a mobile-app login QR code in “Moj profil” (My profile). In the app, select “Skeniraj QR kod” (Scan QR code) or “Unesi kod ručno” (Enter code manually).

  3. The app guides you through a few short steps:
    • Write down your registration number and keep it safe. You only need it if you later ask customer support to deactivate the app.
    • Accept the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
    • Set a PIN for quick sign-in.
    • Optionally enable biometrics and push notifications. You can skip both steps.
  4. The app is activated. Continue with section A.

Common problems

I scanned the QR code, but nothing happens.

Usually, mGrađani is not installed (see B), or the code was scanned inside the app instead of with your phone’s camera. If your camera does not recognise QR codes, use Google Lens or a QR scanner app.

The app shows an error or the request has expired.

Each QR code is valid for a limited time, shown in the app as “Vrijedi do” (Valid until). Return to your original cart and start a new attempt. If the previous attempt is still pending, select “Cancel”, then “Verify age” again.

I tapped “Odbij” (Decline).

You cannot continue buying products containing alcohol in that case. Repeat the process and tap “Autoriziraj” (Authorise).

The security level is not high enough.

Sign out and sign in with a higher-assurance credential, such as mToken or an e-ID card.

I don’t have an e-Građani credential.

The list of accepted credentials and instructions for obtaining them is available at gov.hr. The quickest option is usually your bank’s mobile token, if the bank offers it as an e-Građani credential.

You can still buy products without alcohol in our store. Remove products containing alcohol from your cart yourself; we do not remove them automatically.
