Use of Artificial Intelligence

This Statement explains how Adria Gifts uses artificial intelligence (AI) tools to assist in preparing and maintaining content for the online store. AI is an assisting tool, not a substitute for human review, business responsibility or customer rights.

1. Who operates the online store

The Adria Gifts online store is operated by Mad About It d.o.o. za trgovinu i usluge, with its registered office at Dugoselska ulica 10, 10000 Zagreb, Croatia, OIB: 66978587529.

2. How we use artificial intelligence

Confirmed uses of AI tools are: assistance with writing, translation, language editing and content structuring, and limited processing of real product photographs, including background adjustment, retouching and minor aesthetic edits.

AI may assist with:

  • language and style when preparing initial versions of text;
  • translation and language editing subject to human review;
  • content structuring and technical preparation of materials;
  • editing real product photographs, such as adjusting a background, retouching and minor aesthetic edits.

We do not present AI as an independent source of verified product information or as a substitute for professional or editorial judgement.

3. Human review and editorial responsibility

Published content undergoes human review, and Mad About It d.o.o. retains editorial responsibility for information published in the online store.

Against the actual products, labels and business records, we specifically verify:

  • the composition and characteristics of gift boxes;
  • manufacturers and other responsible economic operators;
  • ingredients, allergens, alcoholic strength, quantities and warnings;
  • dimensions, prices, discounts and availability;
  • the content of photographs and other information that may affect a purchasing decision;
  • legal, safety and customer information.

AI output is not used as the sole source of a label, warning or other mandatory product information. Responses to written complaints, returns, withdrawals and privacy-related requests are reviewed by a responsible person.

4. Photographs and product presentation

AI may be used for limited processing of real product photographs. Such processing must not falsely represent the contents of a gift box, the number or quantity of products, appearance, size, material, colour, condition, properties or other material characteristics of a product.

A photograph should remain sufficiently faithful to the actual product for the customer to understand what they are purchasing. Decorative elements and a stylised background do not form part of the gift box unless expressly stated in the product description.

5. What artificial intelligence does not do

Adria Gifts currently:

  • does not use an AI chatbot that communicates directly with customers;
  • does not use AI for personalised pricing;
  • does not use AI to decide written complaints, returns, withdrawals or other customer rights;
  • does not use AI systems to make solely automated decisions that have a legal or similarly significant effect on a customer.

6. Automation is not necessarily artificial intelligence

Ordinary automation is not in itself artificial intelligence. We do not describe automatic order confirmations, technical checks, availability displays or standard online-store platform functions as the use of AI merely because they operate automatically.

7. Labelling and transparency

We will clearly label artificially generated or substantially altered content where required by applicable law or to avoid misleading a customer. Standard editing, retouching or adjustment of the background of a real photograph will not be presented as a change to the product itself.

Under Article 50 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 on artificial intelligence, certain transparency obligations apply from 2 August 2026. Those obligations differ according to whether an entity provides or deploys an AI system and according to the type and use of the content.

8. Introducing new AI functions

Before introducing an AI chatbot, personalisation, automated decision-making or new types of generative content, we will assess their effect on customers, privacy and transparency obligations. We will update this Statement and, where necessary, the Privacy Policy before publicly launching such a function.

9. Questions and reports of potentially misleading content

If you believe that content created or altered using AI is inaccurate, inadequately labelled or potentially misleading, contact us at iva@madaboutit.hr. It is helpful to include a link or brief description of the content concerned.

10. Assessment date and updates

The list of confirmed AI uses was assessed on 28 August 2026. We will review this Statement after a significant change in the use of AI tools or relevant law.
